UEFA is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2014 – and delegates at this week's XXXVIII Ordinary Congress at the Palace of Independence in Astana, Kazakhstan, will be able to view a special exhibition marking six memorable decades for European football's governing body and football on this continent.

The exhibition consists of a round counter, or virtual clock, of eight metres in diameter. The clock is split evenly into 60 ticks – one per year since 1954 – each showing key facts and stories, as well as pictures which relate to UEFA and its competitions.

The facts and stories have been translated into UEFA's three official languages of English, French and German, with some information also available in Russian and Kazakh. In addition, the exhibition presents the flags of each of UEFA's 54 member associations, which are displayed above the clock on four-metre high flag posts.

The exhibition has been produced and designed by Die Firma/Designwerk, and is one of a number of events taking place this year to commemorate the founding of UEFA at a meeting in Basel, Switzerland, on 15 June 1954. A similar exhibition will feature when UEFA celebrates its 60th year with an open day for the public in Nyon in the autumn.
