Radio 100 will help spread the UEFA European Under-21 Championship gospel in Denmark after being announced as the third national sponsor for the final tournament, which will be staged in June.

The popular commercial station has pledged to give significant promotion to the tournament, which will be played in Aalborg, Aarhus, Herning and Viborg from 11 to 25 June, with its sizeable reach across Denmark expected to bring the U21 finals into millions of homes and workplaces in the months ahead.

"UEFA is delighted to have Radio 100 on board as a national sponsor of the U21 tournament," said David Taylor, CEO of UEFA Events SA. "As the official radio station of the U21 finals, Radio 100 will give the championship a significant boost by providing valuable exposure for the tournament."

Jim Receveur, CEO of Radio 100, said: "Radio 100 is pleased and proud that UEFA has chosen us as a partner and we look forward to covering the biggest sporting event in Denmark."

Preparations for the finals have been ongoing since December 2008 when Denmark was announced as the host nation. The other two national sponsors are Ekstra Bladet and Intersport. Additionally, national newspaper Ekstra Bladet has pledged to help support the tournament, while major broadcaster TV 2 has been named as UEFA's broadcast partner in the host country for the championship.
