The appointment of host countries for various European competition final rounds is on the agenda for the first UEFA Executive Committee meeting of the year, which takes place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, on Monday.

The committee, chaired by UEFA President Michel Platini, will be asked in particular to name hosts for UEFA's two futsal competitions, the UEFA Futsal Cup finals this spring and UEFA Futsal EURO 2018. The UEFA Futsal Cup finals will take place in late April and features four clubs – holders FC Barcelona, 2013 champions Kairat Almaty, former runners-up Sporting Clube de Portugal and debutants ISK Dina Moskva. The finals will be staged by one of the four qualifiers.

As futsal has grown as a sport and public attraction, the UEFA Futsal EURO has increased in stature. Belgium staged a successful final round in 2014, with Italy taking the title, and Serbia will host UEFA Futsal EURO 2016 in Belgrade from 2 to 13 February next year. The Executive Committee will now take a decision on the hosts for the finals in 2018.

In 2017, the UEFA European Under-21 Championship final round will be the first to feature 12 teams, following a decision by the Executive Committee last January. This year's final round in the Czech Republic from 17 to 30 June will be the last eight-team finals, and the Executive Committee is called upon to appoint the hosts of the final round in two years' time.

Youth tournament hosts are also on the agenda, and the committee will name the 2017 and 2018 hosts in the European U19 and U17 championships, as well as the hosts of the European women's U19 and U17 championships in the same two years.

UEFA EURO 2016 in France draws ever closer, and the Executive Committee will hear an update on preparations for the tournament. For the first time, 24 sides will contest the UEFA European Championship when it takes place between 10 June and 10 July 2016. The 23 qualifiers and hosts France will contest 51 games over 32 days at ten venues – in Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.

The UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying competition ends in the autumn, and the final tournament draw will take place in Paris on 12 December this year.

Following the Executive Committee meeting, a press conference attended by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino will be streamed live on UEFA.org.

The next meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee is scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, on 22 and 23 March, ahead of the XXXIX UEFA Congress in Vienna on 24 March.
