• Born in the coastal town of Limassol, Marios N Lefkaritis has pursued a successful career as a businessman, with his group of companies dealing in petroleum and shipping, but has enjoyed parallel success as a football administrator, which began with a five-year spell on the Apollon Limassol FC board from 1972 to 1977.
• Admitted to the board of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) in 1985, he served as the organisation's president for a decade from 1991, before becoming honorary president. He became a European member of the FIFA Executive Committee and a UEFA vice-president in 2007.
• Married with three daughters, he has said: "I started by watching football very young, hanging on to a wall to see the action, and then of course it became a passion. I got involved in management from a club level to an association level and then on to the UEFA Executive Committee. It is my passion and my work."
