Albanian runners-up Partizani will replace Skёnderbeu in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, meaning Slovan Bratislava proceed directly to the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
Following the upholding by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) of the decision of the UEFA Appeals Body to declare KF Skёnderbeu ineligible for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Emergency Panel met today and decided that Skёnderbeu will be replaced in the competition by FK Partizani, runners-up in the 2015/16 Albanian domestic league.
As a consequence, the second-leg match in the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League first qualifying round between Partizani and ŠK Slovan Bratislava is designated as a friendly fixture, unless the two clubs agree to cancel it, and Slovan will proceed directly to the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, irrespective of their result in the second leg.
