Sándor Csányi, Hungarian Football Federation president
We are very proud to welcome you here after the UEFA Congress in 2006 and the FIFA Congress in 2012. Football has an outstanding role to play in society and it mesmerises people all over the world. With that unbroken popularity comes a responsibility to remove hazards to the values of football.
Dr Tünde Szabó, Hungarian Minister of State for Sport
Football is the most popular sport in this country with a century and a half of tradition, and people all over the world are waiting for the outcome of the decisions that you will reach at this important Congress. We hope that you enjoy your time in our beautiful and historic city at what is an exciting period for us in sport.
Ángel María Villar Llona, UEFA first vice-president
As I stand here before you, allow me to call on the European football family – the national associations and the clubs, players, referees and coaches they represent – to remain united. European football has achieved success by balancing the interests of professional, amateur and international football. To this day, we have always reached exponential growth. Bearing in mind the legitimate interests of all parties, but above all the interests of football, the sport we love, let us continue working together for many years to come.
Gianni Infantino, FIFA president
It is with true emotion for me to be here as FIFA president. This is a new era for FIFA, a FIFA that stands for reform. It stands for good governance, integrity, transparency, honesty and professionalism. We have a huge responsibility to work together for that with passion and energy and together, we can make a difference.
