The draws for the third qualifying rounds of the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League will take place on Friday 20 July. The pairings for this stage of the two club competitions will be made during ceremonies to be held at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, starting at 12.00 and 13.30CET respectively.

The draw ceremonies will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary, Gianni Infantino, and UEFA competitions director Giorgio Marchetti.

The draw for the champions route of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League will involve 37 teams (three directly qualified and 34 from the 17 second qualifying round pairings, which will play their second legs the following week), which will be divided into two groups in each of which half of the teams/pairings will be seeded.

In the league path of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, four teams will be seeded and four teams unseeded in accordance with the club rankings established at the beginning of the season.

In all 98 teams will be involved in the draw for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League (18 directly qualified and 80 from the 40 second qualifying round pairings), and will be divided into five groups of ten teams/pairings and one group of eight teams/pairings. In each group, an equal number of teams/pairings will be seeded and unseeded in accordance with the club rankings established at the beginning of the season.

If any club in the second qualifying round has an individual coefficient which entitles it to be seeded in the third qualifying round, the winner of the second qualifying round match involving that club is automatically seeded for the third qualifying round draw. This applies to both competition draws. Clubs from the same association may not be drawn against each other.

The final list of participating clubs will be communicated in due course.

Media representatives wishing to attend these draws have to apply via e-mail to fame_accreditations@uefa.ch before Thursday 19 July midday.

Due to the high number of club representatives expected for the draws, only a restricted number of photographers and cameramen will be allowed to attend the draw in the auditorium, with access being granted on a first-come first-served basis.

The draws will be broadcast live on UEFA.com.
