Veteran midfielder Tugay Kerimoglu will make his 94th and final international appearance on 5 June when Turkey face Brazil in a friendly in Dortmund.

'Model professional'
The 36-year-old ended a three-year international exile when he came out of retirement to help Fatih Terim's team beat Georgia in February, but has been unable to earn a place in the side since. He will now step back from the Turkey reckoning once more, though only after lining up against Brazil next month. "I recommended Tugay bowed out with a celebration match, and he told me he'd be thrilled to," said Terim. "He is a model professional on and off the pitch. He has been a great servant to Turkish football."

Long career
The match will end an international career spanning 17 years for the Blackburn Rovers FC midfielder, who made his debut against the Republic of Ireland in May 1990 at the age of 19. Then at Galatasaray SK, Tugay moved to Rangers FC in 2000 and now plies his trade in the Premiership, and he has been a regular part of the Turkey setup pretty much throughout. He has won 93 caps, making him the country's fourth most capped player.
