The legal affairs division deals with all commercial legal matters (media rights, marketing, intellectual property rights, etc.), with all event-related legal matters, e.g. staging agreements, stadium agreements, public authorities as well as all corporate legal affairs. It is responsible for the disciplinary services (in particular, UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body and Appeals Body).

It handles all other legal matters, in particular relating to statutes, regulations and applications for membership. It administrates the Professional Football Strategy Council, a body which comprises associations, clubs, leagues and players – the different families (stakeholders) in professional football in Europe. The division also conducts strategic research, supervises records management activities and works on strategic issues and special projects.
