The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) is being given invaluable support by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) in preparing for various facets of Romania's participation at UEFA EURO 2016 this summer.

In a positive example of knowledge-sharing between associations, and to maximise the EURO experience for Romania's fans and commercial parties, the FRF has asked its Dutch counterpart for help and advice ahead of the tournament in France.

The KNVB's extensive experience with fan marketing, events and sponsor activation is now being put to use, to train the FRF's employees in the run-up to UEFA EURO 2016, which begins on 10 June. Romania start the final round in Group A, together with hosts France, Albania and Switzerland.

"The FRF is an ambitious organisation that has undergone a process of professionalisation in the past few years," said KNVB president Michael van Praag. "We are very pleased to help this progressive organisation. Together we make football stronger, and we therefore support co-operation between associations within the UEFA family."

"The Netherlands is recognised as a country with a spectacular deployment of supporters during international football events," added FRF president Răzvan Burleanu. "The Dutch fans are famous for the civilised manner in which they behave during the numerous activities specially designed for them. This collaboration is very useful, and we are hoping that we will give the Romanian supporters at EURO 2016 experiences that they have only seen on TV."
