The ambitious goals of our Football Sustainability Strategy 2030 are reflected in the organisational culture of our administrative headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Recent initiatives have built on our longstanding commitment to create an inclusive and healthy workplace for UEFA staff and ensure our campus buildings incorporate best practice sustainability principles.
Taking our lead from our strategic policies and targets, we are working to:
- Align UEFA codes of conduct for business relationships with our human rights and environmental commitments;
- Develop health and well-being guidance material for our staff;
- Drive flagship initiatives to reduce UEFA's environmental impact, particularly around waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
2022/23 impact
In 2022/23, we assessed potential risks and mitigating actions across financial, operational, reputational and strategic activities. We also reviewed regulations and policies, updated our inclusive language guidelines and improved accessibility inside our headquarters.
Equal salary employer certification
"UEFA is the first organisation in the sports sector to be equal-salary certified."
In December 2021, UEFA received equal salary employer certification following an audit by independent auditor PwC for the Equal Salary Foundation, a Swiss non-profit organisation. The certificate is granted to organisations that apply a fair wage policy for male and female employees.
